Press Program Now Available for the April Meeting of the American Physical Society

April 10, 2023

The in-person experience for the American Physical Society’s April Meeting begins next week in Minneapolis with presentations on the latest research in astrophysics, cosmology, particle physics, gravitation, nuclear physics and more. It will be followed by the virtual experience April 24-26.

There are no press conferences planned for this year’s program. However, press materials about newsworthy presentations are now available in the April Meeting press kit.

Registered journalists will receive emails with press information daily for the duration of the meeting and have access to a press room with dedicated internet that will serve as a workspace on a first-come, first-served basis.

Press Registration

News media with valid APS press credentials may register for the meeting at no cost. To request press credentials, visit APS’s online newsroom. If you already have APS press credentials, log in to your APS account before registering for the meeting. Press registration will remain open throughout the meeting.

Scientific Program

The April Meeting will include more than 1,400 presentations that span from quarks to the cosmos. For more information, search the scientific program. All times are in U.S. Central time.

Hybrid Format

The April Meeting will have both in-person and online experiences. The in-person experience will be at the Hilton Minneapolis April 15-18. It will include scientific sessions, exhibits, networking events, receptions and more. In-person press registration includes access to the online experience.

The online experience will be held April 24-26. It will feature livestreamed scientific sessions, keynote style talks, poster slams and more. The presentation slides and audio from all scientific sessions at the in-person meeting will be available for on-demand viewing on the online meeting platform — unless the presenter opts out.

Content on the online meeting platform will be available to all press registrants until July 25.

Health and Safety Guidelines

All attendees are expected to obtain a negative COVID test before the in-person meeting and monitor their personal health while on site in Minneapolis. If an attendee does not feel well for any reason or tests positive for COVID-19, they are responsible for refraining from all in-person proceedings. Read APS’s health and safety guidelines for complete details.
