Physics professor Hanan Sa’adeh founded the LAMBDA Physics Group to inspire the next generation of scientists, educators, and engineers in Jordan to spread the excitement of physics.
Paul Woafo, a physics professor at the University of Yaoundé I, is the founding president of the Cameroon Physical Society.
Anton Senenko, a senior researcher at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine, volunteered to help Ukrainians escape the war zone in the Kyiv region.
Recommend someone exceptional
We're looking to feature APS members who are making an impact for physics in their community, country, or region. Examples include starting a club, mentoring others, fundraising, or dedicating time to an APS unit — any service in support of physics.
Any APS member is welcome to recommend other APS members who reside outside the United States to be featured — you can even nominate yourself.
Submitting a recommendation
Recommendations are always open. When submitting your recommendation, you'll be asked to include:
- A 200 to 500-word summary describing how the member has served their local or wider community, and why they should be considered
- Contact information for the member you are recommending
- Your contact information
