"For important theoretical and numerical contributions to the description and understanding of drop dynamics and breakup in laminar and turbulent flows."

I received my undergraduate degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Rome, Italy, "La Sapienza" in 1994, and my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Yale University in the year 2000.

I was awarded the "Henry Prentiss Becton Prize for Exceptional Achievements in the Field of Engineering and Applied Science" 2000 from Yale University, and the "Outstanding Paper Award" at the 1997 AIChE annual meeting.

I am currently a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, and in the School of Mathematics, of the University of Minnesota, where I am also instructor for an undergraduate Fluid Dynamics class.

My research is in the fields of Complex Multiphase Flows and of Solid-state Phase Transformations.
