Spotlighting Exceptional Research

APS has launched a new, free, online publication called Physics.  Each week Physics will highlight a few important papers from the family of Physical Review Journals, with commentaries written by prominent physicists and designed to be understood by non-specialists.

Current Highlights in Physics

• Observation of directed percolation--a class of nonequilibrium phase transitions
• Power laws in chess
• Taking the wraps off cloaking


Physical Review Focus

Focus logo

Physical Review Focus is a free online service that provides a useful introduction to current physics research. Articles in Focus provide brief explanations of selected research papers from APS journals. Stories are written in the style of a news article at a level accessible to students and researchers in all fields of physics.  Synopses include color images and related videos, when available.

Physics TodayPublished by the American Institute of Physics for members of its 10 member societies, including APS, Physics Today keeps its readers informed about science and its place in the world with authoritative feature articles, news stories, and analyses, as well as by providing a lively forum for the exchange of ideas.
