Annual Meeting of the Division of Computational Physics

The Division of Computational Physics is a major participant at the annual March meeting of the American Physical Society.

Conference on Computational Physics

DCOMP also organizes the Conference on Computational Physics once every three years, and hosts stand-alone conferences from time to time. Between 1989 and 1997, an annual Physics Computing conference called PC 'xx alternated between the US and Europe with joint sponsorship of the APS/DCOMP and the EPS Computational Physics Group. PC89 took place 5-8 June 1989 in Boston, MA, US and PC '97 took place 25-28 August 1997 in Santa Cruz, CA, US. However, interest in computational physics was not limited to the US and Europe. For example, in 1997 the International Conference on Computational Physics (ICCP97) was held in Singapore and called itself PC '97 quite independent of the APS/DCOMP PC '97 that same year.

In 1996, the Commission on Computational Physics was founded at the 22th General Assembly of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics at Uppsala. Beginning in 1997, the Conference on Computational Physics (CCP) has been sponsored by the IUPAP Commission of Computational Physics (C20). CCPyyyy now alternates between Europe, US, and the Pacific Rim, and is hosted by APS/DCOMP when in the US.
