Travel Support for Young Scientists
Each year, the Topical Group provides partial travel support to several graduate students, post-docs, and recently graduated physicists to present contributed papers in the area of precision measurement and fundamental constants.
In 2008, partial travel support for young scientists will be provided to either the April Meeting of the APS, or to the DAMOP Meeting. Travel support is contingent on presentation of an abstract (poster or talk) marked for a session in the research area of precision measurements or fundamental constants.
The abstracts must be marked for a session in the area of precision measurement and fundamental constants. Criteria for a travel support award include relevance of the abstract to the mission of the Topical Group, and travel reimbursement needs. Since travel funds are limited, full travel support cannot be provided.. Participants may initiate their request for consideration by sending an additional copy of their submitted abstract to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Topical group by the deadline for submitting abstracts to the meeting. If you are applying to another APS unit, such as DAMOP, you should disclose this fact in your application.
