Policy Statements

APS statements articulate our enduring positions on topics relevant to the physics community and guide our activities, including authorizing our federal advocacy efforts.

Statements are crafted through a meticulous process that ensures members' voices are heard before approval by the APS Council of Representatives.

In instances when a current event or other situation arises that require a quick response from APS leadership, APS may issue a Board Statement. Unlike APS Statements, which undergo a thorough review and adoption process, Board Statements go through an expedited process.
