Mulwa has served as a principal investigator at the Centre for High Performance Computing (CHPC) in South Africa since 2018.

    Mulwa, a physicist with a PhD in combined computational and experimental physics from the University of the Free State, South Africa, has served as a principal investigator at the Centre for High Performance Computing (CHPC) in South Africa since 2018. Her expertise lies in Density Functional Theory, specifically within the Quantum ESPRESSO code. With a master's degree in computational physics from the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy and the University of Eldoret in Kenya, Mulwa is a trailblazer in the field of material science. Her current research focuses on Fe2 P-type materials for near-room temperature refrigeration and the thermoelectric properties of Heusler alloys. Additionally, she is the chairperson at the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) – Kenya Chapter.
