Background:

Asad Khan, Ph.D., is the chief technical officer of Kent Displays (maker of Boogie Boards and eWriters), where he has worked for more than 20 years, having held numerous management and research and development functions. Dr. Khan is also a member of Kent’s executive committee, overseeing the engineering, quality, manufacturing, and research and product development functions. With more than 20 U.S. and international patents, Dr. Khan is also a co-inventor on several pending U.S. and foreign patents on cholesteric materials and displays. The author of numerous technical publications in liquid crystals, including a contributing author in the book, “Flexible Flat Panel Displays”. Dr. Khan has given numerous presentations and seminars on liquid crystal display technologies in national and international conferences. He is a member of the Society for Information Display and the Society for Optical Engineering. Dr. Khan has a B.S. in physics from the College of Wooster (Ohio), an M.S. in physics from Kent State University (Ohio), and a Ph.D. in chemical physics from the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University.
