Background:

Jacob Klein is a native of Israel and was born in 1949. He received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University in 1973 and his Ph D from Cambridge University in 1977. He began his affiliation with the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1977 where he is now Chairman of the Polymer Research Department. He also serves as a consultant to the Exxon Research and Engineering Company.

Klein has served on the Editorial Board of a number of professional journals including Macromolecules, Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Physics, Acta Polymerica, and Journal of Macromolecular Science - Reviews in Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics'. He has received recognition through numerous awards, the most recent being the Japanese Kao Fellowship.
