"For their leadership in the discovery of the Omega minus baryon, the convincing piece of evidence for the correctness of the application of unitary symmetry to the spectroscopy of strongly interaction particles. The observation of the Omega minus, at predict-ed mass of 1675 MeV and with the predict-ed stability against strong decay was a dramatic verification of SU(3) indeas and of the quark model. It is, therefore, a fundamental component of the standard model"
