Prize Recipient

Rolf Wideroe

Citation:

"For his many contributions to accelerator physics and technology beginning in the 1920’s, including the development of beta-trons, radio frequency acceleration in linacs and later in synchrotrons. Injection and ex-traction from circular accelerators and the colliding beam concept. His development of radio frequency acceleration was a fundamental step towards modern accelerators from linacs and synchrotrons to storage rings."
