Yueqiang Liu, Ph.D., is a senior fusion theorist at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy in Oxfordshire, U.K., working on the theory and modelling of macroscopic instabilities in fusion plasmas. In particular, he has been working on the magnetic feedback and kinetic stabilisation of the so-called resistive wall modes that can pose severe limitations on the advanced fusion plasma scenarios, such as those foreseen for ITER. Prior to his arrival at the Culham Centre, Dr. Liu held various positions at the Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) from 1999 through 2008, beginning with this postdoctoral fellowship in 1999, an assistant professorship from 2000 through 2003, and an associate professorship from 2003 through 2008. Currently, Dr. Liu is an adjunct professor at Chalmers and at the Southwestern Institute of Physics (Sichuan, China). To date, Dr. Liu has authored or co-authored more than 160 peer-reviewed journal papers, has given 40 invited talks at international conferences, and has made another 180 conference contributions. His total citation number was over 4500, with an H-index of 40 in May 2016, according to Google Scholar.
