Bruce A. Remington received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Northern Michigan University in 1975 and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1986 in experimental heavy-ion nuclear physics. His scientific endeavors in recent years were specifically in the area of theoretical and experimental investigation of pre-equilibrium reactions in heavy-ion nuclear collisions. His current interests focus on the use of large lasers to study plasma hydrodynamics. Specific areas of emphasis are the experimental and theoretical investigation of hydrodynamic instabilities as are relevant to inertial confinement fusion, astrophysical situations such as supernovae, and high energy density physics applications in general. His present position is that of Group Leader for the Hydrodynamics Experiments Group in the ICF program at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
