Make an impact on your career

IMPact is a mentoring program that connects graduate students and postdocs with experienced physicists in industry.

IMPact is open exclusively to APS members, but student membership is free for the first year.

Get involved

Mentors and mentees can meet virtually or in-person, with most meeting bi-weekly for 30 minutes. While IMPact is designed to be short-term, with most mentoring relationships lasting three to four months, mentors and mentees may continue to connect informally for further networking and professional growth opportunities.

Mentees learn from world-class mentors in industry who provide guidance, connect them to industry networks, and assist in taking their skills to the next level.

As a mentor, you support students who are making the leap to the competitive industry landscape, build your leadership skills, and develop lasting relationships with talented young professionals.

IMPact is open exclusively to APS members. Student membership is completely free for the first year, with discounted rates after that.
