Abdel-Harith is a professor at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science (NILES), Cairo University, Egypt.

    Abdel-Harith is a professor at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science (NILES), Cairo University, Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University in 1968 and earned his PhD in experimental physics from Dresden Technical University in 1976. He became a laser physics professor in 1989 and made significant contributions during his tenure at King Saud University from 1992 to 1997. In 1999, he founded a pioneering school in laser spectroscopy at the National Institute of Laser Science (NILES), where he held leadership positions and supervised numerous graduate students. Abdel-Harithhas served as vice chairman of the African Laser Center and chaired the Egyptian Society of Optical Sciences and Applications. He has received awards such as the Youth Scientists of the University of Dresden in 1975, the University of Cairo Award of Appreciation in 2009, the Cairo University Award of Excellence in 2016, and the prestigious State Award of Appreciation in Advanced Technological Sciences in 2022.
