Laassiri is a nuclear physicist and postdoc researcher at the Helsinki Institute of Physics, specializing in PGET devices utilizing advanced 3D position-sensitive semiconductor gamma ray detectors.

    Laassiri is a nuclear physicist and postdoctoral researcher at the Helsinki Institute of Physics, University of Helsinki. She specializes in studying the performance of PGET devices utilizing advanced 3D position-sensitive semiconductor gamma ray detectors. Holding a PhD in physics and nuclear instrumentation from Mohammed V University in Morocco, she also earned a bachelor's degree in fundamental studies and a master’s degree in security of computer networks and embedded systems from the same university. As a co-convener of the Young Physicists Forum under the African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics, she actively engages in societal initiatives. Laassiri is involved in numerous national and international science organizations. Committed to science outreach, she contributes to workshops, mentoring, and other initiatives. Her future plans involve merging her expertise in computational science with her passion for nuclear physics.
