Omamuyovwi Rita Jolayemi

Currently a lecturer at Covenant University, Jolayemi actively engages in screening materials for thermoelectric applications.

    Jolayemi holds a PhD in theoretical/mathematical physics from the University of Benin. Renowned for her research on the half-metallic properties of compounds like RbSe, RbMoSe, and RbMoTe, conducted under Professor John O. A. Idiodi's guidance, she has contributed significantly to computational material physics. Currently a lecturer at Covenant University, Jolayemi actively engages in screening materials for thermoelectric applications. Her academic journey includes MSc and BSc Ed degrees from the University of Benin. Recognized for her dedication, she received the Most Active Participant Award at African School series on Electronic Structure Methods and Applications (ASESMA) 2023. Beyond academia, Jolayemi plays vital roles in teaching, examining for West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO), and contributing to Quantum Espresso codes workshops. She has a passion for education, research, and community service.
