    Musembi is an associate professor at the University of Nairobi's department of physics. He specializes in condensed matter physics with a focus on thin films and their applications in devices such as solar cells, solar thermal absorbers, gas sensors, and optical thin films. He earned his PhD from the University of Nairobi in 2009. He received postdoctoral experience at Angstrom Laboratory in Sweden and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in India. Actively engaged in scientific communities, he frequently presents his work at conferences and has contributed to organizing scientific events. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals and is a member of several professional associations, including the Kenya Physical Society, Materials Science and Solar Energy Network for Eastern and Southern Africa (MSSEESA), European Physical Society, African Network for Solar Energy (ANSOLE), Kenya National Young Academy of Science, AMPATH Medical Records System (AMRS)-Kenya, and APS.
